A large number of police were responding to a shooting on Main Street just off of University of Delaware s campus on Halloween night. A shooting took place at the intersection of Main Street and Choate Street at 11:13 p.m., the Newark Police Department said, but no details on injuries or arrests were available at this time. Police did say that they do not believe there is ongoing threat to the public. The university also sent out an emergency alert notifying the community of the incident and to avoid the area at 11:29 p.m. A video shared on social media showed a crowd of people running down on Main Street, NBC10 s Tim Furlong is headed to the scene to learn more.
